TORONTO, Oct. 16 /CNW/ - Journalists are invited to a briefing and opportunity to observe some of the work taking place in Stayner, Ont., Monday Oct. 19, at 11 a.m., as Hydro One carries out part of its $8 million upgrades to expand capacity in the Southern Georgian Bay Region.

The project: Hydro One is investing approximately $8 million in
                 infrastructure improvements between Blue Mountain and
                 Stayner this fall, as part of its overall plan to increase
                 capacity to the Southern Georgian Bay area. The upgrades
                 will benefit the Towns of Collingwood and Blue Mountain, and
                 expand capacity for the entire region, including the area's
                 ski areas.

    Interview:   Laurie Skinner, Superintendent for the Georgian Bay area
                 will be available for interviews about the project, which
                 will improve reliability both to the towns and the ski
                 resorts and to all Hydro One residential and commercial
                 customers in the area, and support the region's ability to
                 grow.

    Agenda:      11:00 am, Oct. 19, 2009: Journalists are invited to meet at
                 the work trailers across the road (County Road 91) from the
                 Hydro One Transmission Station in Stayner for a short
                 briefing on the work to take place. Stayner TS can be
                 reached by taking Highway 26 from Barrie to Stayner (look
                 for the transmission line).

                 11:30 am: Photo and interview opportunities near Collingwood
                 airport where crews will be installing new equipment and
                 hydro poles.
