Got a power outage? Hydro One offers an app for that!

First Canadian electrical utility to offer customers a free, downloadable outage tracking app

TORONTO, May 22, 2012 /CNW/ - Just in time for the unofficial start of cottage season, Hydro One's free mobile app is now available for download on smartphone and tablet devices allowing customers to check the status of power outages anywhere in Hydro One's service area.

"Hydro One customers asked for this capability and we listened," said Laura Formusa, President and CEO of Hydro One. "By giving customers mobile access to check on power outages, we give them the information they need in a way they want to receive it."

Hydro One's free mobile app puts an interactive outage map that's updated every 15 minutes in the palm of customer's hands anytime, anywhere.

The map displays both planned and unplanned outages and is searchable by address. If there is a power outage, crew status, estimated time of power restoration and cause, if known, are displayed. Customers will also get the latest news from Hydro One delivered directly to their device.

To download the app, just search "Hydro One" on your smartphone or tablet's application store.
