TORONTO, Feb. 13, 2015 /CNW/ - At 10:40 a.m., a transformer at Hydro One's Bridgman TS was removed from service which has affected power supply to Toronto Hydro customers. Power is partially restored and Toronto Hydro is reporting that 14 of its large customers remain without power.
Hydro One has completed tests of the transformer that failed and it will need to remain out of service until further electrical tests and repairs can occur. To restore the remaining supply to Toronto Hydro, Hydro One will reconnect another transformer at the station that was out of service for station upgrades. It is estimated it will take 8 – 12 hours to reconnect the transformer to the electricity system.
Bridgman TS is located near Davenport Street and Dupont Street. There are six transformers at Bridgman TS. There are no injuries or health and safety issues to Hydro One workers reported due to the incident.
