Hydro One Limited Appoints Jane D. Allen to the role of Senior Vice President, Strategy and Innovation

TORONTO, Jan. 19, 2017 /CNW/ - Hydro One Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane D. Allen to the role of Senior Vice President, Strategy and Innovation, Hydro One Limited, effective January 30, 2017.

Jane D. Allen brings significant expertise in corporate strategy and transformational change across the dynamic North American electric and natural gas utility sectors.  Formerly a Partner at Deloitte, a global management consulting firm, Ms. Allen served as National Utilities Leader, Global Renewable Energy Leader, and member of the Canadian Board of Directors.

During her 20-year tenure at Deloitte, Ms. Allen has advised leading energy companies and government entities on business strategy, operations, and regulatory matters.  She is an expert on advanced utility industry innovation including micro grids, energy storage, and behind-the-meter solutions.

Ms. Allen was named Chief Diversity Officer, the first-ever in Canada, while at Deloitte, and established a number of important award-winning programs.  In addition, she has led initiatives to improve First Nations' workplace opportunities.  She has consistently been named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women, Top 25 Women of Influence, YWCA Woman of Distinction, and is a Catalyst Canada Honours Recipient.

Ms. Allen was a senior policy advisor at the Ontario Ministry of Energy, and Assistant Dean at University of Toronto's Faculty of Management.

She earned a Master of Arts from McMaster University and attended executive programs at the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.  Ms. Allen holds a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, degree from McMaster University.
