Hydro One continues to provide relief, choice and flexibility for customers during COVID-19 pandemic

New awareness initiative encourages customers to take advantage of its Pandemic Relief Program

TORONTO, May 13, 2020 /CNW/ - As Ontario begins to look towards recovery from the global COVID-19 pandemic, Hydro One is continuing to provide relief, choice and flexibility for its customers. Today, the company launched an awareness initiative to highlight its Pandemic Relief Program, which provides financial relief and payment flexibility to customers experiencing hardship due to circumstances of COVID-19.

"Falling behind on payments can have a devastating impact on an individual's well-being, especially now as we start to understand the economic challenges resulting from COVID-19," said Jason Fitzsimmons, Chief Corporate Affairs and Customer Care Officer, Hydro One. "As a customer-driven organization, we have an important responsibility to offer relief, flexibility and choice. We want our customers to know that we are here to help and have supports available."

According to recent research from Hydro One, 73 per cent of its residential customers are not aware of the Pandemic Relief Program, which was launched on March 13, 2020. Through this awareness initiative, Hydro One will be informing customers of the relief measures available to them.

"We know we can help our customers avoid the financial stress of falling behind when they are connected to the right programs to meet their unique needs," said Fitzsimmons.

In addition to the Pandemic Relief Program, Hydro One has taken a number of actions to support its customers and its people through this difficult time. More information about Hydro One's Pandemic Relief Program can be found at www.HydroOne.com/PandemicRelief.
