Hydro One presents Temiskaming Shores with a cheque for $118,123 for its conservation efforts

Temiskaming Shores, ON – February 22, 2017 – Last night, Hydro One presented a cheque for $118,123 to Temiskaming Shores for taking part in a conservation program to retrofit roadway lighting. Temiskaming Shores converted its roadway lighting to energy efficient LEDs which will save more than 695,000 kWh per year.

“Hydro One is here to help businesses uncover energy savings and reduce their monthly bill through retrofit incentives,” said Warren Lister, Vice President, Customer Service, Hydro One. “We work with businesses, hospitals, municipalities, schools and universities to identify areas for cost savings and provide a monetary incentive to make retrofits.”

In 2015 and 2016, municipalities in Hydro One’s service territory converted over 42,000 roadway lighting fixtures to LED, saving more than 81,469,000 kWh per year. The incentive program is funded through the IESO’s Save on Energy program and is delivered by Hydro One. Incentive funds can cover up to 50 per cent of a project’s cost.
