This designation recognizes Hydro One as an industry leader in offering scholarships which include paid work terms, in numerous categories including women in engineering, aboriginal students and black students.

Companies were evaluated based on the programs and initiatives they offer to attract and retain younger workers. These include tuition assistance, the availability of co-op or work-study programs, mentorship and training programs, including benefits such as bonuses paid when employees complete certain courses or professional designations.
