ORILLIA, ON, March 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Hydro One announces today that it has partnered with the 2018 Ontario Winter Games to be the official Volunteer Sponsor of the event being hosted by the City of Orillia from March 1 to 4, 2018. During the four day event almost 1,000 dedicated volunteers will support the 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials competing in 25 sports at venues throughout the city and surrounding areas.
"Hydro One has a long history of supporting volunteers in communities throughout the province and we are proud to be there for the volunteers and athletes at the 2018 Ontario Winter Games in Orillia," says Ferio Pugliese, Executive Vice President of Customer Care and Corporate Affairs at Hydro One. "We celebrate the commitment of volunteers who are taking the time out of their busy lives to support the athletes, many of whom will go on to represent Ontario and Canada at the international level in years to come."
Top amateur athletes from across the province have competed regionally for the chance to represent their communities at the 2018 Ontario Winter Games. Along with the volunteers and competitors more than 5,000 spectators are expected to visit Orillia and the surround area to watch the Games.
