TORONTO, March 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Today Hydro One announced that its 400 contact centre employees, previously contracted out, have officially joined the company. Starting today customers will have a more seamless experience when they contact Hydro One. In order to facilitate this change that will ultimately deliver improved service quality, agent flexibility and cost efficiency, Hydro One worked collaboratively with two unions, the Power Workers Union (PWU) and The Society of Energy Professionals.

The contact centers in Markham and London, Ontario, employ nearly 400 employees, handle 2.5 million calls and issue over 14 million statements each year. These employees will now have access to ongoing development opportunities and will play a large part in advancing Hydro One's renewed service culture.
