TORONTO, April 4, 2018 /CNW/ - The wind storm that started earlier today across southern Ontario has now moved into central and eastern parts of the province. At this time, the high winds have cause 297 outages affecting over 84,000 customers. It is expected that the high winds will continue throughout the evening increasing the potential for further damage. Where safe, Hydro One crews are out assessing damage and restoring power to customers.
"Crews have been working to restore power to our customers," said Greg Kiraly, Chief Operating Officer, Hydro One. "We know that electricity is a lifeline for many families - especially for those who depend on electric heat. It's all hands on deck until every last customer has their power back."
Hydro One has been tracking this incoming storm and was able to mobilize crews and equipment early to respond to affected customers.
