TORONTO, September 19, 2016 – Stop in at the Hydro One site during the 2016 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo, (IPM) a five day event running from September 20 - 24, 2016 in Wellington County. Come spin the wheel of conservation to win prizes, watch the live demonstration of the Live Line Pole Setter and try on Hydro One’s protective work gear. Children can watch the interactive Hazard Helmet safety presentation and meet Ellie, the virtual leader of the Kid’s Electricity Safety Team.

One of the main features of Hydro One’s site is the Electricity Discovery Centre - a 1,000-square foot state-of-the-art mobile education trailer with interactive games and exhibits that explain Ontario’s power system, help customers manage their electricity use and costs, and educate children about electricity safety. In the past three years, Electricity Discovery Centre has travelled more than 34,000 km to attend more than 75 events and fairs.

Hydro One is proud to be a presenting sponsor of the IPM, supporting the match through building the infrastructure required to power the tented city and the RV park. Leading up to the event, Hydro One apprentices erected 300 poles, 71 street lights and 20 kilometers of power lines that are the backbone of the event.
