TORONTO, May 15, 2018 – The Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) yesterday presented Hydro One with two Achieving Communications Excellence (ACE) Awards in the categories of community relations and issues management. Hydro One took home the silver award for Community Relations Campaign of the Year which recognized Hydro One’s outstanding community relations during the Power West Toronto project and the Issues Management Campaign of the Year silver award for the diligent relationship management efforts demonstrated by Hydro One with the Robertson Davies Park community throughout 2017.
"Hydro One is committed to working with communities and local residents in every area we serve and are honoured to be recognized by the CPRS for the outstanding efforts put forward by our employees to follow-through on that commitment,” said Ferio Pugliese, Executive Vice President of Customer Care and Corporate Affairs at Hydro One. “Hydro One actively invests both time and resources into public engagement and developing positive relationships because we see it as critical to our business. These awards validate that investment and encourage us to find ways to do more.”
Both projects are a showcase for Hydro One’s renewed focus on community engagement and its customer-first approach to business. In particular, the plan designed and executed for the Power West Toronto project is now considered the internal benchmark for how Hydro One engages with communities.
The Achieving Communications Excellence (ACE) Awards celebrates Toronto’s talented and innovative public relations community. For over twenty years, the ACE Awards have distinguished and recognized outstanding work in the practice of public relations. The award has become synonymous with innovation, skill and excellence. Judged by some of the most experienced professional communicators in the industry, winning an ACE Award is a distinct sign of achievement.
