TORONTO, June 1, 2021 – Today, Hydro One officially joins the Orillia community and will continue energizing life in the region for years to come. Electricity customers will now receive their electricity service and statements from Hydro One.
“We’re thrilled to officially join the Orillia community and welcome our new customers and team members from Orillia Power to the Hydro One family,” said Spencer Gill, Vice President, Customer Service, Hydro One. “We want our new customers to know that we’re committed to supporting them and the Orillia community, to build a better and brighter future for all.”
“On behalf of Orillia Council, I want to offer a warm welcome to the Hydro One team as they officially transition the Orillia Power Distribution Corporation (OPDC) to Hydro One,” said Orillia Mayor Steve Clarke. “While many former OPDC employees are still the ones delivering Orillia’s service, the rest of the Hydro One team has already proven themselves to be great community partners and we look forward to working together in the decades to come.”
“This is an exciting time for Orillia and the region, with the final transitioning of Hydro One,” said Jill Dunlop, Member of Provincial Parliament, Simcoe North. “The core values and commitment to our communities by Hydro One as an economic driver for job creation, are so timely. Hydro One’s investment through current builds and future facilities, their proven philanthropic spirit and the economic spinoff benefits created, will positively serve our communities now and for years to come.”
Electricity customers in Orillia will be transitioned seamlessly to Hydro One, and no action is required at this time. Customers will receive more information and their electricity statements from Hydro One this month.
